How to Check Undeliverable or Failed WhatsApp Contacts in Whautomate

When a WhatsApp message to a contact fails, the contact is flagged as Message Undeliverable so you can find and fix these numbers.

Find failed contacts​

  1. Go to Engage > Contacts.
  2. Turn on Filter Message Undeliverable/Failed Contacts. Only flagged contacts are listed, each with an exclamation icon.
  3. Hover over the exclamation icon to see the reason, for example an invalid number, the person has blocked you, or an outdated WhatsApp version.

Fix and clear the flag​

  • Correct a wrong phone number on the contact.
  • Ask the person (by phone or email) to update WhatsApp, accept WhatsApp's latest terms, unblock you or message you first.
  • Once fixed, edit the contact and clear Message Undeliverable so they receive messages again.

WhatsApp suppressions​

Numbers on the WhatsApp Suppressions tab of Contacts never receive WhatsApp messages. Undeliverable numbers and opt-outs are added automatically, and you can add numbers yourself with Add Number or Bulk Import. Remove a number from the list once the person can receive messages again. See Contacts.
