How to Add WhatsApp Button to Your Instagram Account
Add a WhatsApp button to your Instagram profile so followers can message the WhatsApp number you connected to Whautomate in one tap. Their messages arrive in your Team Inbox like any other WhatsApp chat. The setup is done in Meta and the Instagram app.
1. Connect Your Instagram Business Account to Your Facebook Page
- First, ensure your Instagram account is linked to your business’s Facebook Page. If it isn’t, follow the steps below to connect it.
- Go to Facebook Page Settings > Select the Linked accounts menu option > Click View next to Instagram
- Click the Connect Account Button to login in to your Instagram account to connect it
2. Connect your Instagram account to your Meta Business account
- To link a WhatsApp number to your Instagram account, you must connect your account to your Meta Business Account. If it's not connected, follow the steps below to connect it.
- Go to the https://business.facebook.com/settings
- Select the Instagram accounts menu option under the Accounts section > Tap + Add button to continue.
- Select the checkbox to agree to Instagram's Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy. Then, click the "Claim Instagram Account" button to proceed.
- You will be redirected to the Instagram login page; log in to your account to complete the connection.
3. Link Your WhatsApp Number to your Instagram Account
- Open your Instagram account, go to your profile and tap the Edit profile button to continue.
- Under Public business information, select Contact options.
- Choose the WhatsApp Business phone number option.
- Select your existing WhatsApp number or add a new one. If needed, you can create a new WhatsApp account here.
- Tap Send Code, then verify your WhatsApp account.
Once verified, your WhatsApp number will appear as a contact option on your Instagram profile.
